12 Sep The ASC Welcomes Maxine Gervais
Picture Shop Senior Colorist Maxine Gervais joins the ASC as an Associate Member
Picture Shop Senior Colorist Maxine Gervais has been welcomed as an Associate Member into the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC). Founded in 1919, the ASC has been advancing the art and science of cinematography for over one hundred years.
Over the course of her career, Gervais has graded countless blockbuster and critically acclaimed films as well as hit episodic series. In 2018, she won the HPA Award for Outstanding Color – Feature Film for Alpha. Additionally, she was nominated for HPA Awards for her work on Pacific Rim (2013) and The Book of Eli (2010).
On joining the esteemed ASC, Gervais explains “I’d been asked multiple times by peers why I had not yet joined the ASC as an associate member, but I felt that when my time would come, I would be invited. It was with immense honor when C. Kim Myles approached me asking if I would be interested in joining, and with no hesitation, I said “yes.” It is not only an honor and privilege, but also a cause in which I strongly believe; this is an industry and artistry that needs preservation and longitude. To have such names as C. Kim Myles, Don Burgess, and Guillermo Navarro vouching for me is the cherry on the sundae. What a humbling honor!”
Picture Shop is a proud supporter of the ASC.
