Color Finishing by Mark Kueper – Senior Colorist Picture Shop Toronto.Chapelwaite, the new EPIX drama series is based on the short story Jerusalem’s Lot by Stephen King and stars Academy Award® winner Adrien Brody and Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek). Set in the 1850s, the series follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Senior Colorist Mark Kueper worked with cinematographers Miroslaw Baszak and David Greene on the ten-part series. “We decided to use a Film Print Emulation LUT to work with the period sets and costumes, creating warmer whites and cooler shadows,” said Kueper.  “From there we really focused the color grade on complimenting the dark feeling of the story, playing with how much we can see into the shadows during the moments or tension." Picture Shop’s Trevor Risbridger and Paul Deakin handled the editorial for the series.Watch Chapelwaite on EPIX and CTV Sci-fi
